Build Your Travel PPE Kit

People are traveling again, and it’s important not to forget that Covid-19 and other variants are still present with this elevated interaction. Investing in a quality travel PPE kit will ensure that you’re taking the necessary precautions to protect yourself.

For people traveling by flights or trains, it can be difficult or perhaps impossible to fully protect yourself from the Covid-19 virus without using PPE. This can be especially true when you wait in long lines for your flight or brush by people on a crowded train. The best way to travel and stay safe is to build your travel PPE kit so that you can get to where you are going while remaining healthy. Building your travel PPE kit can be an affordable way to avoid unaffordable consequences so that you can enjoy your traveling experiences without the worry of getting infected.

A Mask
A mask may take up very little room while traveling, but they are essential in protecting everyone from spreading the virus. When choosing a mask, you will want to consider filtration, breathability, and fit; much of this will be determined by the fabric it is made from.

The best fabrics to look for in a mask are an inner layer of absorbent material, such as cotton, a middle layer of a non-woven non-absorbent material such as polypropylene, and an outer layer of a non-absorbent material such as polyester or polyester blend. It is important that the mask fits closely to your cheeks and chin and especially over your nose. You will want the mask to maintain a tight fit to your face whenever you talk.

Gloves
You can protect your hands by wearing gloves and replacing them throughout the day. Nitrile gloves are an excellent choice because they are non-absorbent and they are also biodegradable. Latex gloves are also an excellent choice, and so is a nitrile/latex blend. These gloves take up very little room while traveling; you can place a box in your travel bag while also fitting a few pairs in your pocket.

Glasses or Goggles
Covid-19 and its mutant strains can enter your body through any of your mucus membranes, and this includes your eyes. The virus gets into the air as people breathe, talk, sing, cough, or sneeze, and it remains in the air as tiny aerosol droplets that you can not detect with your five senses. For this reason, it is wise to wear glasses that have curved lenses that wrap around to protect the sides of your eyes. You would want to try these glasses on before buying them to make sure they create a secure fit. If you wear goggles, you will also want them to wrap around your eyes and forehead, creating a secure fit that contours your face.

While these products will take up very little room in your travel bag and they add very little weight, they will offer you the peace of mind that you are doing all you can to stay healthy while you travel and come home trouble-free.
